Lesson Plan templates and resources for planning your
Ancient World History for grades 3 - 8.
This will be our second time around homeschooling history for my eldest. My curriculum is stored by time period. I gather books from thrift stores, friend donations and the library book sale and throw them in the appropriate box.
Its like Christmas each time we change time periods. I will be using a new 'spine' as the source of lesson order. The first time we were using an online public school program k12.com which has since become aligned with Common Core. As time passes, I have realized it is NOT wise to lay down a large chunk of our budget on a history curriculum. Chronological progression and delight directed studies tend to take us off track from the textbook leaving me feeling guilty about wasted funds on a book that we barely reference. That said, I feel a need to have some direction to just get us rolling. Mystery of History now has portions of their Ancient Book online via the Kindle. A wonderful mom at Guest Hollow has already planned out Ancient History lessons using Mystery of History as a base/spine using
